Finally...SNOW!!!

The kids were all hoping for a white Christmas....but....we awoke Christmas morning to blue skies.  In fact, we had the most beautiful 50 and 60 degree weather during the entire week before and after Christmas.  There was no snow to enjoy, but we did enjoy the blue skies and sunshine!!!  On New Years Eve, the skies were so clear, you could see every star in the sky.  We went outside at midnight to light off our fireworks, and every star was shining bright - you could see all the constellations - and the moon was a beautiful orange half-moon - it looked like a giant slice of orange sitting in the sky.  Then, on January 2nd, the cold weather came.  The temperature dropped down into the 20 and 30s on Monday, and on Wednesday of this week we got a little bit of snow - nothing that stuck around for long though.  Then, this morning, I awoke to a text from my Mother-in-law asking whether we got snow.  I replied "no, just cold weather", and opened the door to let Leah out to go potty.  That is when I saw the SNOW!!!  There was only a very little bit, but it was enough to fill our morning with play ;)  We started school a little late, but we had fun!!!  The kids were so excited!!!
There wasn't much on the ground, so they all just walked around in it for a while....until Jason figured out how to scoop it together to form a snow ball....
It wasn't long before everyone else began scooping snow together to form snowballs....
Elli even got in on the action....
Then the fun began....
Once all the snow was scooped over, we headed inside to begin school.  That was when Elli picked up my phone and began having a conversation with her Dad.  I had to sneak the camera out to record her conversation....but I had to catch it, it was too cute!!!
Brandon and Trevor are hoping for a snow day tomorrow....I will keep you posted ;)
