Big brothers are soooooo much fun!!

The twins are sooooo lucky to have the best big brothers in the world. Brandon, Trevor, and Joshua are always building them cool forts, playing with them, reading to them, and teaching them how to have loads of fun.

Working Outside With Mom

The twins and I spent some time outside today weeding the garden and cleaning up the deck. They were working so hard I had to get it on tape - the problem is that as soon as they saw the camera their work slowed down.

The Autumnal Equinox

In the Northern Hemisphere Autumn officially began at 5:19 am ET on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. This is one of my favorite times of the year. The air here in Ohio has gotten "crisp", the trees are beginning to turn the most brilliant, beautiful colors, and the little woodland creatures are all out and busy collecting food for the winter. I love going outside and taking walks during this time of year. Everything is just so beautiful!!

The Kopp Baby Debut...

The new baby is a hot topic in our house. Discussions of whether it will be a boy or a girl, possible names for that boy or girl, as well as conversations of whether mommy won the lot of maternity clothes on e-bay take place in our home daily. These talks are not isolated to the three older brothers, they have trickled down to the youngest two in the Kopp clan. We recently hung the ultrasound pictures (taken at 10 weeks to see if there was one or two Kopps in there) on the refrigerator. Jason and Reagan go up to the pictures and point out the head and the hand, and sometime the legs.

This is a view from the top of the head - you can see the top of the head and then the left arm and hand extended upward :)

This is a side view - you can sort of see the legs extended out and up (on the left), the hands folded on the belly, and the head and facial profile (on the right) :)

Today they were pointing to the pictures having a loud discussion, ie. argument, about whether they were going to have a baby sister, or a baby brother. I stopped the argument by getting the camera - it is amazing that when a child knows that they are being filmed, they all of a sudden change their behavior. So our video sort of became an interview rather than a candid moment - but it is still so cute!!

Hercules: Part II

Hey everybody, Brandon again. It looks like I'm not going to be able to get those pictures, so here is the finished movie, minus the pics I wanted. Oh well. Enjoy.

(You'll probably need to pause the playlist.)

SUGAR!

I love sugar! I always have. Is that a bad thing? In our house there exists a sugar lover, me, and a sugar-free lover, Chris. I do buy sugar free products (syrup, soda, salad dressing, kool-aid), but in the back of my mind I am always thinking - Is this really better? A chemical alternative to natural? HMMM? And then, there is the class that I attended when Chris became a police officer in Scottsdale. The class was for the wives of new officers, and was chock-full of helpful little bits of information to keep us healthy and happy during our husband's stressful career as a police officer. In this class, they warned us that aspartame, a chemical alternative to sugar, actually turns into formaldehyde after it enters the body. Does anyone remember science class in 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th grades, when you dissected things that were preserved in formaldehyde? Again, HMMMM? This morning, as I was paroozing some political blogs that Chris follows (I will read them only once in a while or I get political overload - a bad mental state for me), I found this article:
http://brightlightsearch.blogspot.com/2009/08/sweet-on-sugar.html
It was written by Diane Medved, the wife of the very respected (in our house) journalist, author, radio-show host, and blogger, Michael Medved. Again HMMM? Let me know what you think. Take my poll and let's see how many sugar lovers we have out there!
