Congratulations Eagle Scout Trevor!!

Trevor completed the rank of Eagle Scout December 1, 2016.
I have been to several Eagle Scout ceremonies…they were all huge and catered with lots of pomp and circumstance.  When Trevor and I were discussing what we were going to do for a ceremony we both decided that we wanted a low key and casual ceremony…with a giant bon fire…but that was as far as our planning went.  Then…Trevor's friend, Kyle, and the Scoutmaster of the troop asked me if I would like to plan a low key ceremony…with a giant bon fire…for the next campout…and make it a surprise…WOOHOO!!  That was the perfect plan!!
So…last night…we led a caravan of cars into the campsite where the scouts were camping and we surprised Trevor with the perfect Eagle Scout Ceremony!!!
While the Scoutmaster began the ceremony, Kyle began to build the bon fire...
It didn't take long for the sun to set, and by the light of the bon fire Chris and I presented Trevor with his Eagle Scout pin...
And then Chris and I each received a pin from Trevor...
One of the gifts he received from his troop was an Eagle Scout neckerchief…I got to put it on him…
Trevor then took the Eagle Charge…

"I realize my obligation - to my fellow men, my home, my country, and my God, - I will at all times do my best to assist others - to live with honor, loyalty, courage and service - and to be a living example of the Scout Oath and Law - to the best of my ability."

Trevor was presented with a Certificate of Achievement from our local Representative...
He was also presented with an American Flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol Building in honor of his achievement.
He then got to add his name to the troop Eagle stone…a stone signed by the Scouts that have achieved the rank of Eagle in this troop…the earliest signature was from the 1970s...
Once the ceremony was closed in Prayer we all had cake…
The cake I had made for Trevor had a picture of him from the very first Boy Scout Summer Camp he ever went on :)
Congratulations Trevor!!  We are so proud of all you have accomplished and of the man you are becoming!!
