Grandma Pauline's visit Part 2

We have been playing some pretty intense card games with Grandma...
And, Grandma treated us to bacon covered dates! You have to try these, they were amazing! Although I have to say that my family is convinced that anything covered in bacon will be amazing:). She rolled pitted dates into slices of bacon and skewered them with toothpicks...
Then she baked them at 450 degrees for about 20 minutes. You have to try these, they were soooo good!! The twins could not wait to try Grandma's treaties!!

Grandma Pauline's Visit Part 1

Grandma Pauline arrived on July 14th. This is her at the airport with Elli - she couldn't wait to hold her Granddaughter!!!

This is Brandon and Grandma waiting for her suitcases. As you can see by the picture, Brandon has grown and Grandma has shrunk:)...

Since Grandma got here all we do is play with Elli and play card games. We are having so much fun!!!

Stay tuned for Part 2...

Family!

Our transition to New Jersey was so wonderful because we had so much family here when we got here! Mom and Dad were with us for Father's day!
We gave Dad a new door mat for his trailer:)! Uncle Sam, Aunt Patti, and Lily came to visit us...Lily and Elli got to pretend to be twins...
We went to Washington DC with them...
This is how Elli travelled around DC...
Joshua and the twins in front of the White House...
Jason and Reagan met Batman and Robin at the Washington Monument...
Elli again...
Joshua's favorite part of visiting Washington DC was seeing C3PO...
We saw Grandma Faith's toaster at the Smithsonian - Joshua thought that was funny! This is how the twins slept as we wandered through museums in DC...
We went to see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia...
After visiting Philadelphia, we drove up to Wyckoff, NJ so that we could attend the 50th wedding anniversary of Chris' Aunt Judy and Uncle Tom. Everyone at th party had their cameras out but me - so I have no pictures of the party, but I am so glad to have been able to go. Uncle Tom and Aunt Judy have an incredibly wonderful family and I love visiting them! We also got to see Hope, Brittany, Jade and Grace. The twins couldn't wait to play with their cousins. Aunt Hopi got Elli and Lily matching dresses so that they could pretend to be twins again...
Thank you to all our incredible family who made the transition to New Jersy soooo great! We love you!

10 years old, on July 10th of 2010 - It's a GOLDEN BIRTHDAY!

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY JOSHUA! When you were little I would sing the song "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray! You'll never know Josh how much I love you, so please don't take my sunshine away!" So today I dedicate my blog to my little sunshine!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LITTLE SUNSHINE!

Happy Fourth of July!

This Fourth of July we watched the fireworks from Margate Beach!! What an incredible thing to sit by the ocean, hear the waves coming in (in between the rockets red glare and bombs bursting in air), and celebrate our Great Nation's birthday! Wow! Even better is the fact that we already have friends living here to celebrate this holiday with!! Ryan, his wife Devon(8 months pregnant with baby Ella), and their 3 yr old daughter Reese watched fireworks with us. We had a blast!!

Atlantic City could be seen off in the distance
